How to Post AI Trend Videos on TikTok, Reels and Shorts
Format, cropping, music, captions and AI labels: a practical checklist for posting an AI effect video so it looks right and reaches the trend.
You've made the video. Posting it well is the other half: the right shape, the right sound and a caption that puts it in front of people who already love the trend. Here's the checklist, platform by platform.
Check the shape first
Every effect tells you its format on its page, in the "at a glance" box.
| Your video | TikTok / Reels / Shorts | YouTube, X, WhatsApp |
|---|---|---|
| Vertical 9:16 (Bulin 47, Roadster, Ozil goal, neon duet, runway walk) | Upload as is, full screen | Plays with side bars |
| Landscape 16:9 (Burning Bridges, Crazy Frog, Unforgettable Car, Alors On Danse) | Shows with bars above and below unless you crop | Upload as is |
Cropping landscape to vertical: in CapCut, Instagram's editor or TikTok's own editor, choose a 9:16 canvas and scale the video up until it fills the frame. Most effects keep the main person near the centre, so a centred crop works. For two-person effects, check that both people stay in frame: in the Crazy Frog chase the chaser is often off-centre behind the rider.
Resolution: 480p or 720p?
Phones show both well. 720p looks noticeably sharper when people pause or zoom, and keeps fine detail like fur, sequins or text on cards. If a video is likely to be screenshotted or reposted, 720p is worth the extra credits.
Sound
Videos with a soundtrack (Bulin 47, Burning Bridges, Crazy Frog, Roadster, Unforgettable Car, neon duet, Alors On Danse) already have it merged. Two options when posting:
- Keep the original sound. It's the fastest signal that your video belongs to the trend. Viewers recognise it in a second.
- Use the platform's version of the sound. If the trend's audio is available in the app's sound library, adding it there (and muting the original) links your post to the sound's page, where people browse every video using it.
Silent videos (Ozil goal, runway walk) are made for your own sound. Put the beat drop where the action peaks: the finish for the goal, the turn for the runway.
Label it as AI
TikTok, Instagram and YouTube all ask creators to disclose realistic AI-generated or AI-altered content, and they provide a label or toggle for it when you post. Turn it on. It's honest, it protects your account, and for trend videos it doesn't hurt reach: everyone knows the format is AI, and that's part of the fun.
Captions that work
Short captions that set up the joke perform best:
- Name the person, not the effect: "My dad has never been this calm" beats "AI Ozil goal video".
- Ask for a tag: "Tag the friend who'd do this."
- Use one or two trend hashtags plus a general one. Long hashtag lists don't help.
- In replies, say which tool you used if someone asks. You don't need to put it in the caption.
Timing and format tricks
- Reply to the original. Posting as a reply or remix to a popular version of the trend groups yours with it.
- Series. Effects with options (five Crazy Frog scenes, four football kits, six runway looks) make easy part 1/part 2 posts.
- Before and after. A normal photo first, then the video. Glow-up edits are built on this.
- Duets. On TikTok, posting a two-person effect and tagging the other person invites them to duet or stitch it.
Before you hit post
- Right shape for the platform, or cropped
- Sound kept, or replaced with the trend's sound
- AI label turned on
- Everyone in the video agreed to be posted
- Caption written and the friend tagged

Common questions
Why does my landscape video have black bars on TikTok? It's 16:9 and TikTok is 9:16. Crop it to vertical in the editor, keeping the main person centred.
Will TikTok lower my reach for using the AI label? Platforms ask for the label so viewers aren't misled. Trend videos are expected to be AI edits, so the label fits the format.
Can I add text on top? Yes. Keep it in the top or middle of the frame; the bottom is covered by the app's buttons and captions.
What length works best? The effects are 10–20 seconds, which suits every short-video platform. Don't pad them with long intros.
