Is There a Free AI Trend Video Generator? What Credits Actually Pay For
Why AI trend videos usually cost money, what 'free' tools trade off, and how credit packs and subscriptions work on AI Effect Studio, with real numbers.
"Free" is one of the most searched words next to every AI video trend. It's a fair question, so here's an honest answer: what generating a video actually costs, what free offers usually trade off, and how our pricing works.
Why AI videos aren't free to make
Turning a photo into a moving video isn't a filter. Each video runs on a large video generation model on rented GPUs. For trend effects the model also has to read the original clip, frame by frame, to copy its motion, so the cost grows with the length of the clip and the output. On top of that come storage, audio merging and payment fees.
That's why almost every service either charges per video, limits free use, or makes money another way.
What "free" usually means
Free offers exist, and they can be fine for a quick test. Common trade-offs to look for:
- Watermarks across the video.
- Lower resolution or shorter clips.
- Daily limits or long queues for free users.
- A free preview (often a still image) with the video itself paid.
- Unclear rights over your photo, or using your uploads to train models.
Read the terms and the privacy policy before uploading someone's face.
How pricing works here
We don't offer free generations. Instead the smallest purchase is designed to cover one complete video, with no watermark.
Credits per video
| Video | 480p | 720p |
|---|---|---|
| 15-second cut, or effects up to 15 seconds | 100 | 200 |
| Full length, for clips longer than 15 seconds | 200 | 400 |
One-time packs (credits never expire)
| Pack | Credits | Enough for |
|---|---|---|
| $9.99 | 100 | One 15-second 480p video |
| $19.99 | 220 | One 720p or full-length video |
| $49.99 | 600 | One full-length 720p video plus 200 credits spare, or six 480p videos |
Subscriptions start at $19.99 a month for 300 credits, with yearly plans priced at ten months. Subscription credits refresh every billing period and don't roll over, so they suit people who make videos regularly. If you make one or two videos for a birthday, a pack is simpler.
What you're actually paying for
- The full video, no watermark, as a downloadable MP4.
- Failed generations refunded. If the video service confirms a failure, the credits for that video return automatically, once per task.
- Privacy. Photos are deleted after 7 days, videos after 30, and only your account can see them.
- Shared credits. One balance works on every effect, so leftovers aren't wasted.
What credits don't buy: a guarantee that the AI will match your face perfectly. AI output varies, which is why the cheapest option is a full 480p video rather than a preview: you see the real result before spending more.
How to spend the least
- Start with the 15-second or 480p version, 100 credits.
- Use a good photo (see how to choose the best photo). It's the biggest factor in whether you'll want a second try.
- Only upgrade to 720p or full length once you like the result.
- If you plan several videos, the $49.99 pack costs less per credit than the smaller packs.
