How to Make AI Videos of Your Dog or Cat
Turn a photo of your dog, cat or other pet into a trending AI video: which effects work with pets, how to take the photo, and what to expect.
Pets are some of the most shared AI trend videos, and for good reason: a cat behind the wheel of a sports car or a golden retriever on keyboards is funny before anyone says a word. The good news is that pet videos are often easier to get right than people videos, as long as you start with the right effect and the right photo.
Which effects work with pets
Not every trend is built for animals. Effects designed around a human face expect human expressions and hands, and a pet in those roles can end up in strange poses. These two are built for pets:
| Effect | Pet role | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Day 1 of Owning a Roadster | The driver | Stuck in rainy traffic with a coffee, presses a button, the car rockets into the sky, coffee everywhere |
| Alors On Danse | Keyboard player and/or partner | One plays keys in a white studio, the other points, dances and leans into the camera |
In both, the AI keeps your pet as the animal it is. A cat stays a cat with its own fur and markings; it isn't turned into a human or into the golden retriever from the original video. You can also mix: you on keyboards with your dog as the dancing partner.
Taking a pet photo the AI can use
A pet's identity lives in its face, fur colour and markings. These tips matter more for pets than for people:
- Get down to eye level. Photos taken from standing height look down on the pet and squash its face. Crouch or lie on the floor.
- Daylight, no flash. Flash flattens fur and can turn eyes into glowing dots.
- Face visible. Ears up, eyes open, looking roughly at the camera. A treat held just above the lens helps.
- One animal. Crop out other pets and people.
- Avoid sleeping or curled-up photos. The AI needs to see the shape of the head and body.
Short-nosed breeds, long-haired cats, tiny dogs and even rabbits can work. The clearer the markings, the more it will look like your pet.
Picking length and quality
- Roadster: one length (about 13 seconds). 480p costs 100 credits, which is the $9.99 starter pack. 720p costs 200 credits and keeps fur sharper.
- Alors On Danse: the 15-second cut costs 100 credits at 480p; the full 16 seconds costs 200 credits at 480p and 400 at 720p. For pets we recommend the full version, which runs on a stronger model that handles animals and close-ups better.
Ideas people love
- "Day 1" for a new pet: the adoption-day photo in the driver's seat.
- Pet duos: the calm cat on keys, the excitable dog as the partner.
- Birthdays: your pet's birthday, posted on their own account.
- Before and after: a photo of your dog asleep on the sofa, then the rocket launch.
What to expect, honestly
AI pet videos are fun, not perfect. Paws on a steering wheel or a keyboard can look odd for a frame or two, and very fluffy coats can soften. Faces and markings are usually where the likeness shows best. If your pet comes out looking like a different breed, the fix is almost always a closer, sharper photo of its face.
If a generation fails, credits return automatically. Photos are deleted after 7 days and finished videos after 30, and only you can see them.
Can I use a photo of a toy or a drawing?
Your own stuffed toys work surprisingly well in the Roadster effect. Drawings and cartoons usually come out less faithful, and characters owned by someone else, such as brand mascots, shouldn't be used.

Common questions
Can I put my pet in a people-only effect like Bulin 47? You can try, but it isn't designed for animals and the result is usually odd. Use the Roadster or Alors On Danse effects for pets.
My cat won't sit still. Any tips? Take a burst of photos while someone holds a toy above the camera, then pick the sharpest frame where both eyes are open.
Will my pet's name or breed matter? No. The AI only uses the photo, so what you see in the photo is what you get.
Can I share the video on my pet's account? Of course; pet accounts are where these videos get the most shares.
